Only Christianity offers total forgiveness. ..?

It’s quite the marketing point!  And this idea is used against this poor Buddhist fellow who clearly doesn’t know his religion in-depth:

“No other religion besides Biblical Christianity offers total forgiveness.”

Isn’t that a shame for those of other faiths.

But did you know the really Good News?

Total forgiveness is available to ANYONE and EVERYONE who accepts its availability.  Jesus is not necessary.  The Biblical story of Jesus does help lead people to understand this in a way though, which plays a significant part in leading people into the faith.

Unfortunately, using a questionable story to bring forward this understanding tends to lead to an arrogance of faith – it simply takes the need for forgiveness from individual level selfishness and brings it to a group level.  Essentially, it’s what they call ‘passing the buck‘.

This is a big part of why Christianity is both successful in helping pull people away from their personal troubles, but is also harmful to the progress of knowledge and understanding.

Total forgiveness may be offered through Christianity, but it is offered conditionally.

Unconditional total forgiveness is offered without need for religious belief.

What an arrogant interviewer! Not all who cry “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven. My money would be on the gentle young student.

Personally I think the payment of sins is the way we learn the lessons God wants us to learn, and we return to this life to go on learning until we are fit to serve God in some after-life way. Not everyone’s cup of tea, and I don’t say you should believe this. Each individual is a private student of God, and learning differs.

Exactly why there should be more focus on connecting beliefs rather than separating them from each other. All beliefs have come from understanding the same existence!
