A thought on determining truth: Creation vs Evolution

Have you ever encountered someone who attempts to turn things in another direction, or comes up with alternate explanations whenever they are called into question?

Have you ever encountered someone who, when called into question, attempts to understand what happened and will accept blame if they have made a mistake, and carry on from there?

Who would you consider more reliable and believable?

Upon conversing online this week in attempts to understand a “Young Earth Creationist” point of view, and exploring resources that educate on the viewpoint of Earth being 6,000 years old (opposed to billions of years old), I received the impression that this viewpoint’s character fits strongly with my first question of this blog post.¬† The tone of any of the resources I viewed came off as quite defensive.

It makes me wonder, if this point of view has so much truth to it, why are these resources so insecure about letting their research and understandings speak for themselves?
