I just came upon a blog post that poses the question “Am I a disciple of Jesus?”:
3 Questions That Gauge if You are A Disciple of Jesus http://ctkblog.com/2013/12/26/3-questions-that-gauge-if-you-are-a-disciple-of-jesus/#comment-3984
I think the real question is, are you able to connect with both the “tax collectors” and the destitute of society?
In order to imitate Jesus, first you need to understand what he understood. You need to first be able to listen to and understand others, and then be able to connect through their understandings to understandings that will uplift their humanity.
It is no easy task, and part of the disconnect of Christians with humanity is that Christians tend to work more from Biblical language when they need to apply their understandings to common language that others can understand.
